Personal Statement:

As someone who has loved music since I was very young, I have learned to play many instruments and compose music in my free time over the years. But now I am prepared and dead set on becoming the best sound producer I can conceivably be. I have always been graded highly in all my Music-related qualifications I have accumulated over my educational years - Even attaining a Grade A in my HNC Sound Production course last year. My main intention I will accomplish will be to professionally record music, be able to fund myself within the music industry and make a name for myself that everyone will know.

Experience:

Argos, Airdrie Retail Park – Retail Assistant -

June 2015 – October 2019 & October 2023 - Present

I have gained numerous skills, roles and responsibilities that I am confident in from working in Argos over the years, such as;

- Learning to deal with customers in many difficult and pressured situations while staying patient and focused. This helped to give the customers the best possible experience in store and make sure they were satisfied with my services.

- Being trained on tills and doing stockroom work (including pulling in/putting away deliveries). I am excellent at communicating with customers and dealing with large amounts of money through having experience working at a till. I am very efficient, quick and careful when I am doing stockroom work e.g. replenishing stock or keeping things tidy and organised.

- Reaching targets set by my managers and team leaders & working alongside a team and building relationships with my other peers to reach said targets. Helping to teach new members of staff how to better their performances on either a till or in the stockroom would also help me develop my own knowledge and skills.

Vallourec Oil & Gas UK LTD, Clydesdale Rd, Bellshill – Machines Operator and Stockyard Worker -

October 2019 – October 2020 & February 2022 - December 2022

- My main two aspects I take great pride in with my work are, without a doubt, my care for health and safety of me and others & the quality of my work. Health and safety are paramount. Especially working with heavy machinery.

- I always take as much care as possible when it comes to the accuracy of my work. I am willing and keen to take on as much knowledge from others to broaden my skill set. When the opportunity arose to learn new skills, I will be eager and looking forward to doing so. I have great communication skills – which I make great use of when I need to learn from or teach others.

- Prioritising different tasks and managing my time are two skills I applied to my work in Vallourec, too. For example, I have had to work at the Endsizer at Line 1 and the Endsizer at Line 2 at the same time – this was never an issue because of my planned out and coordinated time management.

- I use my cooperation skills to help others and to identify any errors I may come across when at work. I practice this very seriously as it keeps myself and others safe, it keeps my accuracy and quality of work at a high standard & it allows me to learn for the future.

- Alongside my experience with running machinery such as the endsizers, wrencher, final exam post and the saws used for cutting metal pipes. I also had experience working at the stockyard on the site, where pipes are drifted, painted, inspected, cleaned with industrial pressure washers and tallied before they are sent to the oil rigs.

Collins and Co., Airdrie - Painting and Decorating -

May 2021 – January 2022

- Since working with Collins and Co. I had picked up a lot of skills very quickly when it came to decorating and making a customer happy with the outcome of the work they desired.

- I took part in a college course for the trade also which involved me learning more advanced techniques that I maybe wouldn’t have had the chance to out on site e.g. using the scumble glaze technique or using stencil work.

- I take great pride in my effort to make sure my work is as neat as I can and I am always eager to learn.

- I would set up ladders/scaffolding on site safely when necessary, prepare in depth for the job ahead of me, make sure that my area of work is clean & leave no room for errors to occur.

- Using industrial paint spraying machines to paint walls for specific jobs and not just paint brushes/rollers set me aside from other young painters because I had the extra knowledge to use this method where it was necessary.
